Full Description:
Glen Gibson’s interest in art began at an early age but his first professional career was not in the art field; his 20-year career in the military afforded him the opportunity to explore galleries and museums around the world and expand his enthusiasm for abstract art.
“Flying was my job; art was my pastime,” Gibson muses. After his military retirement, Gibson became involved in designing award-winning commercial buildings in Napa and Calaveras counties. “Again, designing custom homes and buildings was my job; art was my special interest and pastime.”
Upon retiring for good, Gibson and his wife, Joy, returned to Paso Robles to enjoy the next stage of their lives. “Abstract art appeals to the viewer’s eyes as well as to his/her inner emotions. An unappealing reaction is as important as an appealing one. All abstract artists attempt to create a sudden emotional response from the viewer. You will notice that I have not titled any of my canvases. While I have my own feeling, I leave interpretation solely to each viewer.”
